PEIDA Building Infrastucture for the Future
The Prince Edward Island Darts Association (PEIDA) has taken a leap into building their future of darts with the creation of portable dartboard stands made from lumber, hardware, and lighting donated from Spring Valley Castle Building Supplies, and Summerside Kent Building Supplies. This initiative aims to enhance the dart-playing experience for all future events and provide a safer and more versatile platform for all dart players. This is just one of current projects to increase infrastructure.
PEIDA calendar filling up with plenty of events
As we approach the Red Rock Open on October 20-22, the timing is perfect to talk about PEIDA events that will have a regular fixture in the darts calendar of activities on the island.
Mike Prowse Memorial Tournament a Success
On September 17, dart players gathered at the Summerside Legion to play a mixed doubles tournament in memory of Mike Prowse. This tournament was meant as a fundraiser for PEI Youth Darts activities and fared very well in the fundraising department.
No less than 18 teams showed up for the event, one of the most successful turnouts for a fundraiser tournament in a while. It was a great crowd and the competition was fierce throughout the event.

Team PEI Final Results in 2023 Nationals
With it now being one week since the end of the Adult Canadian National Darts Championships in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Team PEI should feel nothing but pride in what they have done for their province this year, and feel excited for what is coming up in the future. With 70 total match wins this year, PEI increased their wins by 35% up from 52 last year in Toronto and leap-frogged over the Northwest Territories for 11th place in the Canadian Cup standings. The following are the results for each Team/Person in their events:
2023 Team PEI Testimonials
PEI team members and support volunteers who participated in the 2023 Adult National Dart Championships agreed this year’s event had a ‘different feel’ than previous years. This difference was largely due to increased camaraderie and team bonding. A new venue (St. Hyacinth, Quebec) and the use of DartConnect® also contributed to the enhanced experience. Participants reflected on their trip and wrote testimonials to share their thoughts. Read what some of our 2023 Team PEI members want to share about their nationals experience.
Another Season Complete
The 2023 National Championships for both Youth and Adults have now come to a close. This year saw PEI send a youth team to Nationals and we as an Executive Board, and personally, as an Islander, it was with great pride that our province was represented at that level. Our Youth Director, Tracy Powers, and volunteers worked tirelessly to fundraise and to make the trip a real possibility and a great success. I believe the foundation has been started for a youth movement in which we may eventually pass the torch.
Lotto 10/49 Winners after 3½ Weeks
With less than 2 weeks before our Team PEI heads to St. Hyacinthe Quebec, our Lotto 10/49 fundraiser has been completed after seven draws through the Canadian Lotto Corporation. Throughout the month of may, our team sold tickets for this lottery, with a grand total of 242 tickets being sold with a 50% payback to the winners. The Jackpot grew to a grand total of $1210 to the 'winner', or in last nights case 'winners' as both Dianne Harper, and Christina Mill had all their numbers eliminated.
