PEI Darts Mailing List

Good morning everyone.

If you are receiving this email, it is because your address has been listed in our association as a contact email, given to us to use for future updates with our group. We realize that not everyone uses facebook or other modes of social media, and we want to ensure our messages get out to as many people as possible. This mailing list is open to anyone, not just our members, so please pass the word around for anyone that wants to be informed of the future with the PEI Darts Association.

The URL to join the mailing list is:

Cavendish Beach Music Festival - Recycling Sort

We've been offered an outstanding opportunity to earn $5000 (five thousand dollars)! Cavendish Beach Music Festival has offered us the opportunity to sort recyclables during the concert. In exchange we will be paid $5000!

Without your help we won't be able to take on this task and we won't be able to get the $5000! It certainly isn't a glamorous job but, the upside is you'll be able to enjoy the concert at the same time. I also, believe this will be our way in to future CBMF events to fundraise.

President's Report, 2019 AGM

In October of 2018, with the majority support of dart players in PEI, the group of individuals in front of you today set out to build a new foundation for the sport of darts on PEI.  The dissolution of the previous organization left an obvious void in our sport and I am happy today to sit before you and bring forward the number of changes and achievements we have been able to attain.

Membership Report

We have a total of 28 members. Almost reached our goal of 30....hopefully next season. Actually that is a pretty good number considering the length of time that we had. From the notification of acceptance to the cut off date of end of March, so....3-4 weeks, not that long. A great number considering there was no incentive to join this year.

A breakdown of the cost associated with the membership:

28 members
Each member paid $25.00.
28 members X $25.00 is $700.00

NDFC requires us to send in $15.00 per person for a National Membership this year.

Financial Report

I mentioned as of today we had several people donate to us and we truly appreciate these individuals doing this.

We had a fundraiser / information session in Charlottetown on November 18th, 2018 with a tournament that followed.  We raised $176.00 and had to pay the rental of the hall in the amount of $100.00 With having 50/50, Donations, Sandwich & hot dog sales and Sweetheart tournament  on February 17th, 2019 we raised  $275.00

On February 15th we paid the Affiliations Fee to the National Dart Federation of Canada, in the amount of $400.00

Website and Social Media Update

With the conclusion of yesterday's Annual General Meeting, and officially being appointed as VP Communications, I felt an update to the direction of digital media should be given to the public. My goal as a communications officer is not just to update a website and make random posts in a Facebook or Twitter account, but to make a connection between people, both individuals and groups.
